Wesley W. Simina (born September 10, 1961) is a Micronesian politician who has served as the president of the Federated States of Micronesia since 2023.
[1] Simina resigned as governor in July 2011 to become Chuuk's at-large senator in the national Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia.
[4] Elimo won a special gubernatorial election on August 24, 2011, to serve out the remainder of Simina's unexpired term.
[4] Elimo won the election with 7,945; Alexander Narruhn came in second with 6,913 votes, while Redley Killion placed third with 3,692.
[4] Simina was elected as the Speaker of the Nineteenth Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia on May 11, 2015,[5] and on May 11, 2023, he was elected president of the Federated States of Micronesia during the first regular session of the 23rd Congress.
