As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 1,038 people, 377 households, and 304 families residing in the township.

15.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

West Perry Township is in the 82nd Legislative District for the Pennsylvania General Assembly held by C. Adam Harris whose office is located on Main St., Middleburg.

West Perry Township is in the United States House of Representatives 10th District held by Rep. Chris Carney.
