Wheeler is a city in and the county seat of Wheeler County, Texas, United States, located on the eastern border of the Texas Panhandle.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Wheeler has a total township-area of 1.5 square miles (4.0 km2), all land.

As of the census[3] of 2000, 1,378 people, 520 households, and 365 families resided in the city.
About 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
