A much larger school was required due to the large house-building programme that was taking place.

It offers a range of vocational and traditional qualifications at Key Stage 4 and 5, including GCSE, BTEC and A-Level.

[2] New and improved Sixth Form facilities opened ready for the academic year beginning in September 2009.

[3] On 24 February 2000 the school avoided a legal battle by announcing that, in future, girls would be able to wear trousers.
