Before WWI, he lived in Dunedin and when his former business partner, John Findlay, was hesitant to take him on again after the war, Sim moved to Christchurch and joined Duncan, Cotterill and Company as a partner.
[1] Sim was appointed King's Counsel on 19 July 1939[2] and moved to Wellington.
[3] In the 1951 New Year Honours, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for public services.
