William Edmondson (sound engineer)

William Edmondson (July 4, 1906 – April 18, 1998) was an American sound engineer.

He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Sound Recording for the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

He is credited on most of the "Thin Man" movies as well as most of the "Twilight Zone" episodes and the "Combat" series.

[citation needed] William was born in Houston, Texas in 1906 to Josiah Lewis Edmondson (a civil engineer) and Effie Nettie Kennedy.

Her father was Wiliam Bainbridge Kennedy, and Lon Chaney's grandfather was his brother Jonathan Ralston Kennedy who was the first superintendent of the Mute Institute at Olathe Kansas and later of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
