William Forst House

Built in 1820, it made history between November 18 and 20, 1861, as the site where the Confederate government of Kentucky was formed.

[1] The House is a two-story, five-bay, Federal style building made of brick.

As there were still fears of attacks by Native Americans when the structure was built, there are no windows on the sides of the building.

The original kitchen, servants' quarters, and white-column front porch are no longer present.

While meeting at the house, the delegates elected George W. Johnson to be the Confederate governor of Kentucky.
