William H. Sims (American politician)

William Henry Sims (July 31, 1837 - February 28, 1920) was a lawyer, Confederate officer, and Democratic politician from Mississippi.

William Henry Sims was born on July 31, 1837, in Lexington, Georgia.

[2] Sims fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, and reached the rank of lieutenant colonel.

[1] In 1875, he was elected to the Mississippi Senate to represent the state's 18th district, consisting of Lowndes, Oktibbeha, and Clay counties from 1876 to 1878.
