Willisburg, Kentucky

Willisburg is a home rule-class city in Washington County, Kentucky, United States.

[3] Willisburg was founded in 1838, and was named for Captain Henry Willis, a Revolutionary War veteran.

Willisburg Lake, an impoundment of Lick Creek built by the city in the late 1960s, lies just to the northwest.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the city was 92.76% White, 5.92% African American, and 1.32% from two or more races.
