It includes the unincorporated communities of Cabot, Lernerville, Marwood, West Winfield, and Dennys Mills.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 24.1 square miles (62.3 km2), all land.

[3] As of the 2000 census,[5] there were 3,585 people, 1,335 households, and 1,010 families residing in the township.

There were 1,381 housing units at an average density of 56.6 per square mile (21.9/km2).

20.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
