Wolfwil is a municipality in the district of Gäu in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.
[3] Wolfwil has an area, as of 2009[update], of 6.88 square kilometers (2.66 sq mi).
Of the rest of the land, 0.92 km2 (0.36 sq mi) or 13.4% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.27 km2 (0.10 sq mi) or 3.9% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.1% is unproductive land.
[4] The municipality is located in the Gäu district, in the Aaregäu region.
It consists of the linear village of Wolfwil and the settlements of Far and Oberer Schweissacher.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Argent a Wolf Gules passant over a Base of the same inscribed WW of the first.
[8] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (1,876 or 96.8%), with Albanian being second most common (22 or 1.1%) and Italian being third (18 or 0.9%).
[7] The age distribution, as of 2000[update], in Wolfwil is; 152 children or 7.8% of the population are between 0 and 6 years old and 331 teenagers or 17.1% are between 7 and 19.

In the federal election, a total of 986 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 63.3%.
[8] There were 1,020 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 41.8% of the workforce.
The number of jobs in the secondary sector was 282 of which 176 or (62.4%) were in manufacturing and 106 (37.6%) were in construction.
In the tertiary sector; 74 or 36.5% were in wholesale or retail sales or the repair of motor vehicles, 49 or 24.1% were in the movement and storage of goods, 12 or 5.9% were in a hotel or restaurant, 1 was in the information industry, 6 or 3.0% were the insurance or financial industry, 24 or 11.8% were technical professionals or scientists, 17 or 8.4% were in education and 7 or 3.4% were in health care.
[8] From the 2000 census[update], 1,328 or 68.5% were Roman Catholic, while 385 or 19.9% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.
The education system in the Canton of Solothurn allows young children to attend two years of non-obligatory Kindergarten.
All the lower secondary students from Wolfwil attend their school in a neighboring municipality.
