Wooleen Station

The property lies just west of Boolardy Station, now the home of the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory, which incorporates the Square Kilometre Array (SKA).

In February 1890, a shepherd named Templeton and about 1,100 sheep died from dehydration in extremely hot weather.

Templeton's body was found 50 miles (80 km) west of the homestead, along with a note describing his predicament.

[3] Heavy rains fell in the area in 1921 with the local mail being stranded at Wooleen for some time as a result of washaways, nearby properties recorded falls of up to 15 inches (38 cm).

[10] The heritage-listed homestead is 1,200 square metres (12,917 sq ft) with wide colonial style verandahs with a large billiards room and extensive library, it also has its own swimming pool.
