[3] Wysox Township is located in east-central Bradford County, along the northeast bank of the Susquehanna River.
Its name comes from a Native American word meaning "canoe harbor."
[4] As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 1,763 people, 710 households, and 506 families residing in the township.
There were 798 housing units at an average density of 35.5 per square mile (13.7/km2).
22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
