Yokohama derby

The club's name was changed to Yokohama Marinos in 1992 due to its decision to go professional.

The club's name was changed to Yokohama Flügels in 1992, also after deciding to go professional.

[2] Flügels then merged with Marinos to become Yokohama F. Marinos in 1999,[2] but many Flügels fans refused to support the new combined effort and created their own club, Yokohama FC.

At the derby on 11 August 2007, the Marinos' ultras were arrested after lynching FC's supporters.

[5] On the 11 July 2018 derby, FC's ultras refused to hold a moment of silence for the victims of the 2018 Japan floods and continued to sing chants.
