Yordan Stoykov played as a defender in Lokomotiv Sofia from 1970 to 1983, as record 336 appearances for his home club.
Lead the team of Al-Ittihad Club (Tripoli) in 1991/1992 and he was a senior coach of the PFC Pirin Gotse Delchev in 1992/1993, and then for two years in Tanzania (1993-1995), where local Malindi F.C.
In 2004, he worked at the New Radiant SC[2] Since January 2005 until October 2007 he again coached the Maldives national team.
