Yucatan Township was organized in 1858, and named after the Yucatán Peninsula.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 351 people, 133 households, and 100 families residing in the township.

There were 133 households, out of which 36.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.9% were married couples living together, 5.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.1% were non-families.
