[2] The ZM network as it is today was founded in the early 1970s as three separate commercial music stations owned by Radio New Zealand in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Local ads, weather and traffic are removed from the online station (as these are available on demand for every market inside the ZM iPhone and android apps).
The Newsfeed service (formerly called Newsbeat) has news reports read out and local weather updated from the Auckland studio for each individual region.
The bulletins are sourced from the NZME newsroom (Newstalk ZB & NZ Herald), and air hourly during weekdays between 6am-9am inclusive with newsreader Brin Rudkin, who also presents Newsfeed updates on The Hits, Radio Hauraki, Coast and Flava.
Former Newsbeat and Newsfeed presenters include Glen Stuart, Bridget Hastie, Debbie Griffiths, Dan Bernstone, Ash Thomas, Adam Cooper, Paul Stenhouse, Jacob Brown, Rachel Jackson-Lees, Lee Plummer and Sam Worthington.
