Zaitseve (Ukrainian: Зайцеве; Russian: Зайцево, romanized: Zaytsevo) is a rural settlement in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine.
[1] Pro-Russian forces took the settlement under their control in the beginning of the War in Donbass, in 2014.
[5][6][7][8][9] The settlement is located near the frontline between Ukrainian forces and the separatist Donetsk People's Republic in the war in Donbass.
On February 21, 2022, pro-Russian rebels shelled the town, killing two soldiers.
