Zastávka

Zastávka is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

The first written mention of the name Zastávka is from 1775, when there was an inn, but the village did not exist yet.

The village was founded as a result of black coal mining, which began here in 1788 and lasted for 180 years.

The municipality was established in 1875 and originally named Boží Požehnání ('God's blessing') after the mine.

[6] The main landmark is the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist that dates from 1911.
