Zhamantuz (Kazakh: Жамантұз) is a salt lake in Shalkar District, Aktobe Region, Kazakhstan.
[1] The lake lies about 20 kilometers (12 mi) to the NNW of Shalkar town, the district capital.
The Shalkar-Aktobe railway passes 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) to the southwest of the lake.
On average the highest water level is in April and the lowest in October.
[2][3] Reeds grow in stretches of the lakeshore and steppe vegetation in the area surrounding Zhamantuz.
