Zita Maria de Seabra Roseiro (born 25 May 1949) is a Portuguese politician and publisher.
As a member of the Communist Party, she was elected to and served in the Portuguese parliament, representing Lisbon and Aveiro between 1980 and 1987.
During the visit, she was struck by the contrast between what she had read about the country in its propaganda as a workers' paradise and what she observed.
[2] After publicly renouncing communism, she joined the center-right Social Democratic Party (PSD) and rejoined the Assembly of the Republic representing her home district of Coimbra.
[3] With an interest in the arts, she directed the National Audio-Visual Bureau, and, in 1993, she became president of the Portuguese Film Institute.
