The settlement, and the entire municipality, are included in the Savinja Statistical Region, which is in the Slovenian portion of the historical Duchy of Styria.

[4] The name of the settlement was changed from Sveta Rozalija (literally, 'Saint Rosalia') to Zlateče pri Šentjurju in 1953.

[5][6][7] The local church, built on a hill east of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Rosalia and belongs to the Parish of Šentjur.

The largest of the church's bells was cast in Celje in 1756 by Gašper Schneider (1726–1774); its tone was considered so strikingly gentle that the composer Gustav Ipavec composed the song "Iz stolpa se mi zvon doni" (From The Tower The Bell Tolls To Me) in its honor.

Saint Anthony's chapel contains frescoes by the Ljubljana painter Franc Jelovšek (1700–1764), an altar dating from 1864 to 1866 by the Celje wood-carver Ignacij Oblak (1834–1916), and a pulpit from 1870.
