[1][2] Born in Grenoble, Perroy passed his agrégation in 1924, and was a lecturer at the University of Glasgow from 1924 to 1934.
Under the pseudonym "Besson", he was responsible for the Mouvements unis de la Résistance's propaganda in the Loire region.
After the liberation of France, he was appointed to the commission charged with compiling the history of the Resistance.
[1] He had a particular interest in Anglo-French relations during that period, and wrote extensively on that subject as well as on the Hundred Years' War and on the English occupation of France.
