It is owned by ERT3, ERT's regional public broadcaster for northern Greek audiences.
102 FM was one of the three radio stations that the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation broadcast across Greece and all the Greek diaspora, the other two being on 95.8 FM and the Trito Programma Vrahea.
The first program broadcast on 102 FM was also transmitted on 1044 kHz in the medium wave band.
On 11 June 2013, after ERT's closure, the station continued broadcasting from the second frequency of ERA Sport Thessaloniki at 103.3 FM, under the name ERA Thessaloniki.
Since June 2015, after ERT's re-opening, the radio station is operated by ERT3, ERT's department in Macedonia, that replaced NERIT Macedonia.
