The 14th Radio Technical Brigade "Bohdan Khmelnytskyi" is a Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force concerned with radar operations in South Ukraine and is subordinated to the Air Command South.
It is headquartered in Odesa and operates many radar systems including the "Pelican".
In 2007, a separate research area for air defense "Oreanda PS" was created in the regiment.
[2] On 17 August 2016, a soldier of the brigade (Oleksandr Oleksandrovich Grebenkin) was killed whilst serving on a combat mission near Andriivka.
[4] On 24 February 2022, at the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the brigade's positions were struck by Russian warplanes killing eleven female soldiers of the brigade (Shoris Olga Pavlivna,[5] Kosar Liliya Ihorivna,[6] Tatyana Valentynivna Skurat,[5] Nataliya Andriivna Protsyshina,[7] Barbul Victoria Viktorivna,[8] Larisa Mykolaivna Hutsol,[7] Lyudmila Ruslanivna Kutishevska,[7] Nataliya Mykolayivn Shaporova,[7] Berina Olena Vitalyivna,[7] Straton Alla Viktorivna[7] and Olena Mykolayivna Dobrovolska[7]) of the brigade and eleven male personnel (Oleksiy Adolfovich Shuda,[9] Pavlo Vasyliovych Bondarenko,[10][11] Sabatyn Serhiy Serhiyov,[10][11] Dmytro Sergeyevich Zaitsev,[10][11] Dmytro Volodymyrovych Holodnyuk,[10][11] Bondar Andrii Andriyovych,[10][11] Serhiy Serhiyovych Len,[10][11] Oleksandr Serhiyovych Medvedenko,[10][11] Hutsol Oleg Viktorovych,[10][11] Dumbrava Andrii Ivanovych[10][11] and Yasko Oleksandr Oleksiiovych[10][11]) of the brigade.
