New Mexico was won by New York Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt in a 27-point landslide against incumbent president Herbert Hoover, who failed to gain reelection.

As of 2020, this remains the best presidential performance in New Mexico history.

Roosevelt would ultimately flip both counties in the following election.
