The 1964 Class A First Group was the 26th season of the Soviet football championship at top division and the 15th for Class A.
The season started on 27 March 1964 and finished on 8 November 1964.
Upon conclusion of the regular season, at the end of November in warmer Tashkent took place additional play-offs for the first place and the 13th place.
