The 1987 Texas Southern Tigers football team represented Texas Southern University as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1987 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by fourth-year head coach Lionel Taylor, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 5–6, with a mark of 3–4 in conference play, and finished tied for fifth in the SWAC.
