The 1988 Murray State Racers football team represented Murray State University during the 1988 NCAA Division I-AA football season as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
Led by second-year head coach Mike Mahoney, the Racers compiled an overall record of 4–6, with a mark of 4–2 in conference play, and finished tied for second in the OVC.
