Primary elections for the United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, Tennessee Senate, and Tennessee House of Representatives, as well as various judicial retention elections, were held on August 3, 2000.
In the general election, Republican candidate George W. Bush narrowly won the state with 51.15% of the to Democratic Vice President Al Gore's 47.28%.
Tennessee native Al Gore easily won the Democratic primary.
Senator Bill Frist won re-election to a second term, defeating Democratic candidate Jeff Clark.
The election of all 99 seats in the Tennessee House of Representatives occurred on November 7, 2000.
