The 2000 WTA Tour Championships, also known by its sponsored name The Chase Championships was a women's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York in the United States.
First-seeded Martina Hingis won the singles event and the accompanying $500,000 first prize money as well as 390 ranking points.
It was the last edition of the WTA Tour Championships to be held in New York.
[1][2][3] Five players, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Mary Pierce, Amélie Mauresmo and Anke Huber, had qualified for the tournament but withdrew citing various injuries and ailments.
