The 2002 Alabama State Hornets football team represented Alabama State University as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 2002 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by third-year head coach L. C. Cole, the Hornets compiled an overall record of 6–6, with a mark of 2–5 in conference play, and finished fifth in the East Division of the SWAC.
