2007 South Lanarkshire Council election

Labour retained their position as the largest party on the council but were no longer in overall control after the introduction of proportional voting saw them lose 22 seats.

The net gain/loss and percentage changes relate to the result of the previous Scottish local elections on 1 May 2003.

This may differ from other published sources showing gain/loss relative to seats held at the dissolution of Scotland's councils.
