MacDowall was the leading independent driver while Tom Coronel finished tenth to take pole for race two, where he would share the front row with Thompson.

[12] Huff led the final warm-up session in the WTCC on Sunday morning, Pepe Oriola was second fastest ahead of pole sitter Muller.
