2014 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship

In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament through continental and regional competitions.

Poland became the third team in the history of the competition to be crowned as champions in their own country, joining the Soviet Union (1952 and 1962) and Czechoslovakia (1966).

A record number of 279 teams participated in the qualification process for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Championships.

Teams were seeded in the first three positions of each pool following the serpentine system according to their FIVB World Ranking as of 7 October 2013.

With its unique contemporary design, the trophy has set itself apart from other awards in international competitions across the sporting world.
