2017 Major League Baseball draft

The 2017 Major League Baseball draft began on June 12, 2017.

[1] The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams.

[2] With the worst record in the 2016 MLB season, the Minnesota Twins received the first overall pick.

[3] Compensation picks were distributed for players who did not sign from the 2016 MLB Draft.

The St. Louis Cardinals forfeited its top two selections (numbers 56 and 75 in the second and competitive balance round B respectively) and $2 million in damages to the Houston Astros when Commissioner Rob Manfred adjudicated a computer system hacking scandal on January 30, 2017.
