It was initially scheduled to be hosted by Mozambique but has since been moved to South Africa.

[3] however, they failed to defend their title after being eliminated in the group stage following a loss to Madagascar.
[4] A record 12 out of 14 COSAFA member associations entered the tournament, with hosts Mozambique, along with Eswatini and Lesotho, set to make their debut.
The best second-placed team from all groups qualifies for the semi-finals.
