[1][2][3] The 2024 Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank [4][5] in August was followed two attacks in Gush Etzion [2] including a car bombing and a roadside bomb.
[1][2] The three Israeli police officers killed in the attack were identified as Roni Shakuri, Arik Ben Eliyahu and Hadas Branch.
[6] The shooting was carried out by a lone perpetrator, identified as a resident of Hebron born in Jordan who worked as a security officer for the Palestinian Presidential Guard until 2015.
[7] The Khalil al-Rahman Brigade claimed responsibility for the shooting, which was praised by Hamas.
