The results will also be used to determine the leagues for the European qualifying competition for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
League A consists of the 16 top-ranked UEFA members according to the Women’s European Qualifiers overall phase rankings (based on the Women's Euro 2025 qualifying overall ranking, taking into consideration promotion/relegation at the conclusion of that competition),[1] split into four groups of four.
Each team will play six matches within their group, using the home-and-away round-robin format with double matchdays in February, April, and May/June 2025.
The four last-placed teams from each group will be relegated to League B for the 2027 Women's World Cup qualifying competition.
[3][2] The draw for the league phase took place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on 7 November 2024 at 13:00 CET.
