An international co-production between Hong Kong, France, Italy, China and Germany, it is a loose sequel to Wong's films Days of Being Wild (1990) and In the Mood for Love (2000).

Returning to Hong Kong after years in Singapore, Chow has become a suave ladies' man to cover up his pain from losing Su.
