35th Marine Brigade (Ukraine)

The 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi (Ukrainian: 35-та окрема бригада морської піхоти імені контр-адмірала Михайла Остроградського, romanized: 35-ta okrema bryhada morskoi pikhoty imeni kontr-admirala Mykhaila Ostrohradskoho; unit number A0216), is a marine infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Marine Corps formed on 24 May 2018 in Dachne, Odesa Oblast.

During a 2022 Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Kherson Oblast, units of the 35th Brigade captured the village of Davydiv Brid on 4 October 2022.

[7] The offensive has been described as a Thunder Run (referring to a similar strategy used by US personnel in the 2003 Battle of Baghdad) along the Mokri Yaly river.

Using these tactics, the 2,000 man strong brigade punched a hole in Russian lines liberating the village of Makarivka.

[8] Later the unit posted photos of its troops raising the Ukrainian flag over, and then posing in front of the municipal building of the village of Storozheve.
