45th Golden Raspberry Awards

[2][3][4] Nominees were selected through emailed ballots by 1,202 Razzie members: movie enthusiasts, film critics, and journalists from 49 US States and approximately two dozen foreign countries, who identified the top five contenders in each of the nine categories; the nominees for Worst Picture compete for a statuette valued at $4.97, adorned with gold spray paint.

[8] In a press release, the Razzies described and panned the jukebox musical as "a highly anticipated comic-book based sequel that had its protagonists express their mental illness and villainy — by singing and dancing!

[12] Overall, numerous film journalists have considered 2024 to be one of the "worst" years for comic book/superhero movies, with both Folie à Deux and Madame Web being the most mentioned and written about.

[13] Among the previous Academy Award winners receiving mentions and nominations were Cate Blanchett,[b] Francis Ford Coppola,[c] Ariana DeBose,[d] Lady Gaga,[e] Joaquin Phoenix[f] and Jon Voight,[g] the latter being one of President Donald Trump's appointed "Ambassadors to Hollywood" (alongside multiple Razzie-winning actors Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone), who was nominated for his performances in a "near record" four films in a single year.

[3][14][15][16][17] Phoenix also holds the rare distinction of receiving a Razzie nomination for acting for the same role he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for in 2020.
