48th Brigade (United Kingdom)

It was assigned to the 16th (Irish) Division and served on the Western Front.

48th Gurkha Infantry Brigade was formed in December 1949 by the redesignation of Johore Sub-District in Penang, Malaya.

[2] By April 1957 it was part of the garrison in Hong Kong (British Forces Overseas Hong Kong).

It was redesignated in December 1976 as the Gurkha Field Force.
