[4] Aaley is the 1st term youngest councilor of MCD at the age of 22 on independent ticket.

[5] He is the son of Shoaib Iqbal, former Member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from Matia Mahal.

At the age of 22, Iqbal made his debut in MCD by winning 2012 election as RLD candidate from Turkman Gate.

Hs was nominated for the post of Deputy Mayor of MCD by Aam Aadmi Party PAC.

Incumbent deputy mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal of the Aam Aadmi Party won unopposed for the second term on 26 April 2023.
