Abdulla Mahaevich Izhaev (Russian: Абдулла Махаевич Ижаев; 1920–1994) was a Karachay soldier in the Red Army during World War II.
In 1995, he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation; he had been nominated for the Order of Glory 1st class during the war, but did not receive it.
AIzhaev was born in 1920 in Uchkulan [ru] aul, an area located within present-day Karachayevsky District of Karachay-Cherkessia.
He was badly injured twice, and at the end of the war he was in Berlin.
[1] In 1946 he was demobilized and deported to the Kirghiz SSR because of his Karachay ethnicity.
