Abdur Rouf (politician, born 1954)

Abdur Rouf (Bengali: আবদুর রউফ) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former member of parliament from Kushtia-4.

[1] Abdur Rouf was elected to parliament on 5 January 2014 from Kushtia-4 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate.

[2] On 4 July 2015, he prevented Brazilian wheat from entering the Kumarkhali Upazila Food department warehouse.

The wheat had been imported by the government of Bangladesh for its social safety net program.

[3] Rouf was detained in October 2024 after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina led Awami League government.
