Abraham Moss (1898[1] or 1899- 20 June 1964)[2] was the Lord Mayor of Manchester from 1953 to 1954.
[1] He was born in Manchester to Romanian Jewish parents, his father was Hasid and a Talmudic scholar.
He worked in the textile trade but he focussed heavily on education and an elected counsellor.
[4] He was made Master of Arts Honoris causa by University of Manchester in 1952.
