Abraham S. Fischler

Abraham S. Fischler (January 21, 1928 – April 3, 2017)[1] was an American academic, and was the second president of Nova Southeastern University.

Fischler served as Dean of Graduate Studies and Director of the Behavioral Sciences Center from 1966 to 1969.

[3] During his tenure as president, Nova Southeastern University developed and offered the first doctoral distance education program in the country in 1971.

[4] After retiring from the Presidency, Fischler served on the board of Broward County Public Schools from 1994 to 1998.

He continues to be active in the area of K-12 education reform, and publishes a blog on the topic titled "The Student is the Class".
