James Adams, Albert Reagh and Lui Klein were appointed to oversee the first annual township meeting to be held April 5, 1886 [4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.7 square miles (92.5 km2), of which 35.6 square miles (92.3 km2) is land and 0.077 square miles (0.2 km2), or 0.26%, is water.
[5] As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 550 people, 190 households, and 151 families residing in the township.
There were 226 housing units at an average density of 6.3 per square mile (2.4/km2).
The racial makeup of the township was 97.45% White, 1.27% Native American, 0.18% Asian, and 1.09% from two or more races.
18.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
