Adolph Murray

[1] He was the youngest son of the Prussian-born preacher and theologian Andreas Murray (1695 - 1771).

[3] At the age of 19 his professor gave him permission to give public lectures on anatomy in Stockholm.

[1] Adolph Murray then undertook a foreign field trip, returning in 1776.

[3] He was one of the university's most prominent teachers, and made valuable contributions to science.

His son, Carl Adolph Murray, was to become American consul in Göteborg.
